The Sun Zebra, is best described as a children's book for grownups. Its aim is to encourage us to discover (or rediscover) the amazing things that children and their magical carefree world can teach us, even as we try to teach them about the harsh realities of our own. The book is a collection of five stories that follow the "adventures in living" of an unusual little girl named Nell, her mother Rhonda, and Nell's father who is the narrator of the stories.

Have you ever heard of a “children’s book for grownups?” I hadn’t heard of one; until I wrote it! It all started when I saw a picture of a sun zebra. I can’t tell you what a sun zebra is because I would spoil the first story of my book. In this story an unusual little girl named Nell tells her dad that she has seen a zebra, and she wants to show it to him. The dad is a bit skeptical. After all what are the odds of finding a zebra in the middle of rural Pennsylvania? But nevertheless the dad decides to take his daughter to go “look for the zebra.” And what do they find? Well, suffice it to say that the animal they find turns out to be part flesh and part metaphor.

After writing this story, much to my surprise, four more stories involving Nell and her family followed. A daring insect boldly went where no insect had gone before, Poe’s poem “The Raven” got a new twist, a Christmas tree revealed its secrets, and a long-forgotten superhero made a triumphant return. In each of these stories the magical carefree world of children collided with the skeptical world of adults and sparks of wisdom flew everywhere. And this is the purpose of my book: to help us rediscover what it is to see the world through the eyes of a child and learn from this experience.

My book is family friendly, inspirational, and a lot of fun to read. Up to the day of this writing (5-12-12) my book has 40 reviews and a rating of 4.8 stars on Amazon. The Author

Rolando Garcia is the peculiar eclectic writer. He comes from Latin America where he embarked on pursuing a scientific career. But after many years Rolando realized he wanted to write more than technical articles. Thus he began posting his writing on the document-sharing site Scribd.com where his work accumulated more than 100,000 reads and hundreds of comments. It was this enthusiastic reaction that convinced him to self-publish his first book: The Sun Zebra.
