Here is where I judge books by their fashionable cover!

It's only a back view of the dress, but "Wow" it's eye catching and really makes me want to add it to my TBR pile!  I can only imagine how it looks in the front.  I would say sweetheart neckline with a v-cut waist line.  I love it and I think I'm inspired now as to where I plan to take that steampunk design I'm currntly workin on.

I know this cover is minimum on fashion wardrobe wise but after the cover real at I Heart YA Books , I'd be crazy to not give it the props it deserve.  I recently had a photoshoot, where the MUA on set completely transformed the model to A GODDESS.  Seeing it all unfold, and from personal experience, I know applying make up is not as simple as it looks.  This cover inspires me. Simply breathtaking and has awakened me to bring back Fashion Forward Fiction Fridays.  Since this segment won't be complete without an actual fashion forward cover, here's another "sigh" worthy  title I stumbled across:

I love this necklace.  I would wear it everyday and never take it off.  I know!  I'm wired.  Well at least I'm honest about it.  You can't honestly tell me this necklace is not hot.  I wonder if this week's Dreamheart Spotlight, Ilka Harrigan of Nanichi (jewelry), can make something like this for me!

Okay I am a fan of layering.  T-shirts and thermals that is.  I’ve never seen it done with a dress before, and though it’s kind of weird, I can’t say it looks “bad”.  Auburn red heads always look fabulous in emerald green.  I can do without that clutch, but I would Rock that dress.  Seriously!  I’m loving the fascinator millinery hat also.  I would where this to the military ball or to the night club.

From a distance I thought she was wearing boots.  Up close I see it’s just socks, but the ensemble is still Hot.  I want the whole look.   In middle school, I went through a “Clueless” phase.  This book reminds me of those days.   Alicia Silverstone was my idol.  I wore supper short pleated skirts, socks with pumps, and a button down like this one, and said things like “as if”.    My socks were always white, so I’m definitely digging the purple ones.  Those shades and hoop earrings, hair blowing in the wind…”SUPER STAR”.  Oh yes I would go grocery shopping in this!  No, scratch that, I’ll go to the library in this!  Who wears short skirts?  I wear short skirts.  Lol.

I’m not loving the whole ensembles.  Let’s be honest.  I would raid these mannequins for bits and pieces.  Everything is FABULOUS, just not all together. Hummmm, this is what I call fashion overload.  Cuteness delivered ALL wrong.  I love the colored tights.  I would wear them anywhere casual.  The donut-neck-turtle-neck-hybrid blouse is the only thing I don’t care for.  The blonde looks a bit plain, but I love her pastel blazer.  That would look really nice with either chocolate brown slacks or cream. I also love that oversized overnight bag.  Oooh and that middle dress would be sooo scandalous if she wasn’t wearing a blouse underneath.  Can you say freak-em-dress?  I would wear the heck out of that….just not in public.  *lol*  Ohh, and that tweed flapper’s hat is to die for!  Bangles, gloves, clutches, shoes, accessories…all need to be in my wardrobe right now.

They say don't judge a book by it's cover, but a novel with flashy wardrobe on the cover with make you overlook the low ratings. A book cover with style will make me buy it versus borrowing from the library. As a fashion designer and bookworm, I've been known to gain inspiration from a book. I'm sure we've all seen a dress or two on the cover of a bestseller or indie and just had to have it, even if you couldn't magically materialize the garment. In this Fashion Forward Fiction Friday meme...
